A tiny Japanese izakaya where the evening slows down
The Mellow Pub captures the intimacy of a neighbourhood Japanese bar with only a few seats at the counter. Two red lanterns and patterned noren frame the open frontage, while the experienced proprietor prepares bottles, glasses and bowls for the evening.
Inside, sake bottles and stacked crates fill the shelves without hiding the shoji-inspired panel at the back. Two stools wait at the counter beside a bonsai; a Shiba Inu sits attentively near the menu board and a maneki-neko welcomes visitors from the bar.
