Kanmi-dokoro Kurihara: a Japanese wagashi shop in miniature
Kanmi-dokoro Kurihara recreates a small Japanese confectionery shop open to the street. Trays of wagashi, rolled sweets, decorated boxes and tiny labels fill the counter as though everything were ready for the next customer.
A timber façade, green noren and a dark ivy-covered roof frame the serene scene. In front of the shop, bamboo, bonsai, stones, moss and a lantern form an entrance inspired by a small Japanese garden.
An everyday scene filled with detail
A counter full of specialities: varied shapes, colours and presentations bring the display to life while preserving the order of a genuine neighbourhood shop.
Maneki-neko and bonsai: the beckoning cat and small tree add familiar Japanese character beside the boxes of sweets.
A garden-inspired entrance: stepping stones, bamboo fencing and the lantern create a natural transition from the street to the confectionery counter.
