Xinyue Hotel: a two-storey scene from the world of Daomu Biji
Xinyue Hotel recreates one of the most recognisable settings from Daomu Biji as an ornate two-storey Chinese building in miniature. Beyond the red façade, curved roofs and latticework lie elegant rooms filled with characters, furniture and moments from the story.
On the ground floor, laid tables face a small opera stage where two brightly dressed figures perform. Upstairs, another group gathers around a round table amid red bead curtains, lanterns and a more private atmosphere.
Architecture, story and subtle interaction
Two fully furnished floors: the dining room, opera stage and upper chamber present different moments within the same building, connected by stairways, balustrades and open sightlines.
Richly detailed Chinese architecture: layered roofs, sweeping eaves, red columns, ornamental bands and cut-out panels make the exterior as rewarding to explore as the interior.
Opening front doors: the doors on the lower floor swing outwards, bringing the stage, tables and characters into closer view.
Rotating screen with a hidden detail: turn the small screen to reveal the Ghost Seal, physically integrated into the scene as part of its story.
Motion-sensor LED lighting: a gesture in front of the sensor activates the warm light, highlighting lanterns, rooms and characters without touching the model.
