Pergola Reading Room by Nookette recalls a favourite independent bookshop on a quiet side street. Its deep-blue frontage, striped awning and narrow display windows frame a warmly lit interior filled with books.
Inside, shelves climb across almost every wall. Stools, flowers and open volumes turn the compact room into the sort of place where browsing for a minute easily becomes an hour.
What makes Pergola Reading Room special?
A shop door that genuinely opens: the central door swings on its hinges. Closed, it completes the traditional frontage; open, it reveals the rug, counter and first rows of bookshelves.
Books wherever you look: large and small shelves are packed with colourful spines, framed pictures and ornaments. Open books and a little sign beside the counter capture the character of an independent bookshop.
A reading corner with personality: two wooden stools wait beside a low shelf, surrounded by lamps and flowers. A vintage clock, gramophone ornament and sleeping cat give the room an unhurried, nostalgic mood.
Warm, touch-controlled LED lighting: the light brings the windows, shelves and reading corner to life, making the little shop especially inviting after dark.
