Ancient And Elegant Books: a two-level library in XL format
Ancient And Elegant Books presents a private collection as a miniature historic reading room. Its wide open front reveals two levels: a reading table, armchair, cabinets and tall bookcases below, with a gallery of stacked volumes, display cases and a central desk above.
Dark timber, gilded ornament and pointed stained-glass windows give the room a stately, almost Gothic Revival character. A globe, telephone, perfume bottles, maps and scattered books keep it convincingly lived in — more scholar's study than immaculate exhibition.
What sets this miniature library apart
A generous XL composition: the broad frontage and upper gallery offer a more panoramic view than a conventional narrow bookshelf insert, allowing many details to work side by side.
Architecture as part of the collection: columns, balustrades, arched bookcases and stained glass give the books a fitting setting and establish the room's identity.
Traces of its owner: the armchair, lamp, telephone, globe, manuscripts and storage boxes suggest research, travel and long quiet hours spent reading.
LED lighting with touch control: warm light picks out the circular rose window, upper gallery and colour within the side windows.
