The fall down the rabbit hole in a surreal vertical Book Nook
Down the Rabbit Hole captures the dizzying journey into Wonderland. Houses, bridges, staircases, pianos and furniture appear to tumble through a deep shaft while Alice tries to follow the White Rabbit.
The narrow composition uses its full height. Sloping rooftops and ropes fill the upper layers; branches and fantastical creatures cross the centre; and far below, an illuminated doorway leads towards a black-and-white chequered floor.
What makes Down the Rabbit Hole special?
Perspectives that deliberately defy logic: rooftops hang at impossible angles, walkways change direction and staircases appear to lead nowhere. The scene captures the feeling of falling through a world where gravity and scale have abandoned their usual rules.
Alice and the White Rabbit within the route: Alice waits on the lower level before the entrance to Wonderland while the White Rabbit continues through the scene. Clocks, tiny doors and the chequered floor connect the journey visually to the story.
Side panels that genuinely open: both sides are joined to the central body with hinges. Closed, the model creates a dark, deep passage between books; opened out, it reveals the suspended houses and side routes from a broader angle.
Touch-controlled LED lighting: warm light picks out the floating buildings, while green, blue and purple tones accompany Alice towards the doorway. The touch control makes the scene easy to illuminate.
How difficult is it to build?
Down the Rabbit Hole is rated ★★★☆☆ – Level 3, Intermediate. Its many angled pieces, narrow passages and overlapping buildings require attention, although the project remains divided into recognisable zones.
The kit includes a detailed illustrated guide in English. Most steps are explained through pictures, making them easy to follow and complete even if English is not your first language.
