Kirishima Cha-an: a Japanese tea room in miniature
Kirishima Cha-an captures the calm of the tea ritual in a small Japanese house opening onto a garden. On the tatami, a low table holds a teapot, cups and sweets; cushions, books, ceramics and a fan bring quiet life to the carefully ordered room.
A calligraphy scroll in the alcove draws the eye inside, while shoji latticework and a dark tiled roof define the façade. Before the veranda, bonsai, rocks, stepping stones and a small water feature add freshness to the scene.
Balance between room and garden
A complete tea setting: teapot, cups, sweets and cushions create a believable shared moment rather than a simple collection of accessories.
Calligraphy and serene decoration: the scroll, fan, books and vases form discreet points of interest that preserve the calm of the room.
Sliding shoji panel: the front element moves sideways, changing the view towards the tea table and alcove.
Water garden in the foreground: two bonsai, stones, small plants and a bamboo water spout accompany the path to the veranda.
