The Alley Waiting for the Cat gathers an entire Japanese street into a Book Nook arranged across several heights. Steps, balconies and tiny shops lead the eye into the distance between lanterns, signs, parasols and glowing windows.
Cats appear throughout the route. One waits near the entrance, while others watch the street from among flowers, books and timber façades. Each level adds a small everyday scene without losing the clarity of the alley as a whole.
An alley built upwards
Perspective created in layers: the foreground square, narrow passages, stairways and balconies produce remarkable depth in a format designed for the bookshelf.
Cats that accompany the walk: placed at different heights, they connect the smaller scenes and invite you to find every quiet encounter.
Shops with distinct identities: izakaya entrances, displays of books and flowers, awnings and signs form a varied street rather than a single flat frontage.
