Product Details
A deep-sea research station behind a heavy steel door
10,000 Leagues in the Deep Sea turns the space between your books into the entrance to an ageing underwater station. Rust-coloured metalwork, warning markings and technical instruments frame a compact control room dominated by a large observation window glowing in blue, green and violet.
The hinged front door changes how the model is viewed. Closed, it resembles a sealed expedition archive with a round porthole; opened to the side, it reveals control panels, a command chair, pipes and abandoned research notes.
What makes this underwater scene stand out
Hinged submarine door: the porthole, decorative gears, rivets and yellow warning stripes give the front a sturdy industrial character. Real hinges allow the door to open sideways and reveal the complete interior.
Illuminated observation window: the large circular feature at the back draws colour into the scene and creates the impression of looking out into the depths. Touch-controlled LED lighting is especially effective on a darker bookshelf.
A control room with depth: screens, gauges, levers, grilles and the central command chair lead the eye from the entrance towards the observation window.
The archive of an expedition: books, maps, illustrations and open notebooks suggest what the crew had been trying to document beneath the sea.
Industrial steampunk atmosphere: dark metal, pipes, grilles and weathered surfaces contrast with the vivid colours of the illuminated window.
